Well, I'm happy to say that everyone has landed safe and sound in Sydneyland. No missed planes, no broken down vans and no diva tantrums (yet). In fact the mood here is great, everyone is enjoying themselves immensely. For some of us it's still a new experience being out and about in a new city as well. For many more, this will also be the first Mardi Gras experience, so you can almost cut the excitement with a knife. It will build too as the hours tick closer and more fresh eyed volunteers will join our group.

So, the first contingent is here, we're settled and already hard at work.
Tim Newton has just completed a live cross back to
The Spin to report on our activities in Sydneyland and is now piecing together a plan of interviews and plotting the content for the Saturday broadcast.

The two temp marketing interns
Bryce and
Shaun have kept out of trouble by spending their time working out the public transport system here, finishing off the second map of Australia, second radio and plethora of speech bubbles. I've been busy managing work for Melbourne and looking after the makeshift office here (we've even set up mini spaces for audio production, admin/accounts and set construction which conveniently doubles after hours as the boy's bedroom). The work never stops flowing, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Meanwhile, I've received confirmation of our order for letters and numbers that will make up the station call signs. I thought we'd save ourselves the hassle of tracing, cutting and pasting by getting them laser cut which can be done these days rather quickly and cheaply. The plus is the costs were discounted as we were getting so many duplicates (you can see Bryce with all the cash we've saved... no just kidding, that's the money for the rest of the supplies we're getting from Bunnings, Officeworks and Lombards tomorrow). Interestingly the letters that are most common on the float are A-C-E. It spells ace... coincidence? I think not!
